Education and growth are at the core of what Daniel Sommer values.  From a young age, he was involved in working with students of all ages. He led Sunday school classes as a youth, taught activity classes for young parents while in college, and ran a summer camp for students K-8 before becoming a teacher in 2015.  Being a lifelong learner has inspired him to constantly improve as a teacher and educator.  He believes that empowering the youth of today through education and character development will not only benefit their everyday lives but that of those they come in contact with as well.

He has been with Vista Charter Middle School since 2011 where he started teaching 6th grade math and science.  His desire to continually learn pushed him to pursue his Administration credential and became Assistant Principal in 2019.  Since then he has continued to live out his values of education and growth by ensuring that Vista is constantly improving to ensure all students that enter its doors leave empowered and ready to succeed in high school and beyond.

Daniel Sommer has been married since 2005 to his wife, Susan, with whom has three beautiful daughters, Paige, Quinn, and Riley. He spends his free time taking photos, hiking, and running.
