Project Based Learning

Vista promotes a student-centered collaborative learning environment through students "learning by doing," which are the core elements of project-based learning.  Project-based learning helps makes learning meaningful and come alive and is defined by 5 key pillars:

1) Real-World Connection
2) Core to Learning, meaning that projects are integrated into the heart of the unit, rather than at the end of a unit to reinforce the learning
3) Structured Collaboration
4) Student Driven
 5) Multifaceted Assessments so students demonstrate their learning in multiple ways.  Through Project-Based Learning, students gain greater confidence and ownership in their learning, as they see stronger applications to what they are learning and why it is important.
